We mentioned in our news article on 20th August about the 400 new retail jobs in Newport at the Friar’s Walk shopping centre that some of the vacancies would be at a multiplex Cineworld.

We now have a few more details and can confirm that there will be 40 cinema jobs on offer at the Cineworld in Newport once the development opens its doors in a couple of month’s time. Most of the roles available will be for team members, but there will be some supervisory roles at the new Cineworld too. The vacancies will be for a mix of part time jobs and full time positions.

If you are interested in the Cineworld jobs in Newport, then go along to their open day at the Newport Centre in Kingsway. The recruitment event will be on 5th September between 10am and 5pm.

The general manager of Friars Walk’s Cineworld, Kerrie Hanbury, said: “I’m really excited to be part of this new project and am looking forward to bringing a new multiplex cinema to Newport in the Friars Walk Shopping Centre.”

More than 350 other full and part time Newport jobs will be created at Friar’s Walk, with New Look, Nando’s, The Entertainer, Mothercare, Frankie and Benny’s, TGI Fridays, Gourmet Kitchen Burger and Chiquito all looking to recruit at the Welsh shopping centre.
