Motor Insurer To Create 170 Call Centre Jobs In Swansea

ERS, a specialist in motor insurance, has announced plans to grow its call centre facilities in a move which will create almost 170 full or part time jobs in Swansea.

ERS insures all sorts of vehicles - from lorries to ice cream vans and from horse boxes to kit cars - and increased demand for its products, along with a restructuring of its organisation, will see the company moving to larger premises in Swansea, and growing their headcount in the city from 230 to almost 400.

ERS made a base in the South Wales city just a couple of years ago but is starting to outgrow its existing Swansea offices at Cardigan House. The firm is yet to announce where their existing staff and new call centre recruits will be based in Swansea once the expansion is complete.

Explaining the company’s strategy going forward, Ian Parker, Chief Executive Officer, said: “This is a pivotal point in ERS' transformation and the restructure is part of a far wider plan focused on growth and achieving a 90 per cent COR. The move will simplify the business and help to reaffirm ERS' focus as a "specialist-motor, broker-only" insurer.”
