The Shield Group To Create 300 Security Jobs In Manchester

The Shield Group, a specialist in security solutions for businesses and organisations, has announced plans to open new offices in the North West, a move that will create up to 300 full or part time jobs in Manchester.

The Shield Group provides a range of security services such as guarding, screening, monitoring and surveillance to help companies protect themselves, their assets and their employees from criminal activity, fraud, industrial espionage and a variety of other modern-day threats in the business world. They work with over 400 clients, including Manchester’s Imperial War Museum North, and have grown quickly over the course of the last few years, spreading out from their main London base to other parts of the UK.

Outside of the capital, The Shield Group has offices at Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Belfast and Glasgow and is set to increase its presence in Greater Manchester substantially with new offices near to Media City, Salford. Once the new Manchester jobs are filled, The Shield Group will employ close to 3,000 staff in security jobs across various parts of the UK.

Chief executive of The Shield Group, John Roddy, expressed his enthusiasm for bringing more operations to Manchester, saying: “The decision to open a regional headquarters in Manchester was an easy one. From the first day we set up office in the city, where Shield has operated for a number of years, we have and continue to experience phenomenal growth. The new centre is a smart investment that will bring new employment opportunities to the area as well as provide a welcome boost to the fastest growing economy outside of London.”

Corporate account manager Bradley Cohen who will be in charge at the new Salford offices for The Shield Group said he was thrilled to be working on the project for the business:

“I am confident that the decision to strengthen our presence in the North of England will prove to be a successful venture. I look forward to working with our team in Manchester to grow the business and achieve our overall corporate goal,” said Mr Cohen.
