EE To Create 300 New Derby Call Centre Jobs & Expand Apprenticeships

Mobile network and broadband company EE has announced plans to team up with Webhelp UK in a move which will create around 300 full or part time jobs at a Derby call centre.

The new customer services roles at EE in Derby will take the number of people working at the Pride Park call centre to around 1,500 members of staff. The call centre specialist Webhelp UK already partners with big companies like Asda, Sainsbury’s, BT, Vodafone and Sky to bring customer service solutions to their shoppers and users.

Recruitment is already underway for the call centre jobs in Derby but you can search and apply for work with EE on the Webhelp UK careers website.

Following quickly in the footsteps of another new call centre for EE and Londonderry in Northern Ireland, Chief Executive Officer at EE, Olaf Swantee, said: “The opening of our new call centre in Derby is the second UK contact centre we have opened in just a few weeks. It underlines our investment in the UK as well as our determination to make EE number one for service in the telecoms sector. Today’s announcement shows our significant investment in the UK is not restricted to our network and demonstrates a continued commitment to job creation for communities across the country.”

And Webhelp UK’s Chief Executive Officer, David Turner, also commented: “This is a significant opportunity for Webhelp UK as we continue to grow as a business and this new partnership with EE will also allow us to create a large number of new team member roles in Derby. We are committed to delivering the best possible service to our clients and an excellent customer experience for their customers, and remain dedicated to creating new employment opportunities for talented people across the UK.”

EE has also made a bigger commitment to young people by saying it will expand its existing apprenticeship programme threefold by the end of next year. The firm has said it will offer 1,300 new apprenticeships before the end of 2015 and will offer full time jobs to the majority of them when they have completed the programme.

We often advertise call centre jobs on the e4s student jobs website because the work can offer very flexible hours which can be fitted around study time. You can find some of the latest opportunities on our page of Call Centre Jobs For Students.

We are also very keen to find as many positions as possible for young people who are just trying to get a foot in the door of the workplace. Even if you have no previous experience of work, you should be able to find some good full and part time opportunities in our Entry Level Jobs and UK Apprenticeships sections.
