The Perfume Shop, an online and high street fragrance retailer, will have over 1,000 temporary Christmas jobs on offer for 2013.

The Perfume Shop, which is owned by AS Watson - the same company behind Superdrug - are looking for 1,100 Christmas “ELFs” - seasonal sales assistants who are Enthusiastic and Love to have Fun. Flexible hours will be available for students returning to their hometown for the holidays, so you could be able to pick up some sociable hours and earn some extra cash while you are away from college or university.

The company is listed as a top employer in the Times Top 100, and more than 7,000 eager applicants applied for a Christmas job at The Perfume Shop last year.

Training will be provided by The Perfume Shop for students, young people and other temporary job seekers over the Christmas holidays at outlets all over the United Kingdom. Dozens of the 250+ branches of The Perfume Shop are located within Superdrug stores, but most are still stand alone outlets - and one could be right on your doorstep (you can find out where your nearest one is on The Perfume Shop store locator here.)

Although these Christmas jobs are advertised as temporary positions, over 1 in 5 of the people who filled the roles last year were taken on as permanent employees of The Perfume Shop after the holidays were over.

Director of Human Resources for The Perfume Shop, Michelle Fellows, said that Christmas was the busiest time of year for the retailer as people start to buy presents for friends and family.

“We hire the best people to give each one of our customers that personalised The Perfume Shop touch. Each year we are delighted to have so many applicants that want to work for us. We have found that some of our key performers in the business first started with us as Christmas Sales Assistants showing we are always on the lookout for talent,” said Ms Fellows.

Obviously, The Perfume Shop is no exception and it’s great to see them offering so many seasonal jobs this year!
