150 New Glasgow Tax Jobs At KPMG

11 Apr 2013

150 New Glasgow Tax Jobs At KPMG KPMG, the professional services giant, has said it will create 150 new Glasgow jobs in the finance sector as it increases its tax compliance work in Scotland. The office in Glasgow’s financial district will become the hub for all of KPMG’s tax compliance work in the UK.

Michael Moore, Secretary of State for Scotland, said Glasgow had fought off stiff competition from some of KPMG’s other office bases around the UK to host the new centre and the 150 jobs.

Recruitment for the tax jobs at St Vincent Street will begin shortly and the new recruits will start work during summer this year.

Head of Tax and Pensions for KPMG in the UK, Jane McCormick, said of the new finance jobs that the professional services firm will be advertising later this month: “The new UK tax centre of excellence is a major strategic investment for KPMG which will enhance the level of compliance service we provide to clients across the country. Creating this dedicated tax compliance team in Glasgow allows our tax professionals across the UK to focus on providing high quality client advice in an ever-changing fiscal environment.”

Glasgow MP, Sandra White, also welcomed the new jobs and said that KPMG had shown that it was committed to operating in Scotland for the long haul.
