Domino’s Pizza Topping 1,500 New Jobs In 2013

27 Feb 2013

Domino’s Pizza Topping 1,500 New Jobs In 2013 Domino’s Pizza, the leading pizza delivery firm, has announced plans for 1,500 new full or part time jobs in the UK for 2013.

The popular pizza franchise has posted strong profits of over 10 per cent and hopes to take its portfolio of UK outlets to over 1,200 shops. In the UK last year, Domino’s opened 69 new stores and hopes to achieve similar expansion this year too. If the company manages to open the 60 new outlets it predicts then around 1,500 new positions should be created in the United Kingdom.

Domino’s Pizza is also pressing on with its expansion in Germany, where it expects its market overall to surpass that of Britain in the long term. With rights to operate in Austria, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Switzerland, Domino’s could soon become a huge brand name all over Europe.

As an estimate of the UK’s insatiable appetite for the famous Italian foodstuff, Domino’s sold over 60 million pizzas in 2012 - or almost one pizza for every man, woman and child in the nation. Over 30 million of those pizzas were ordered online, and Domino’s still thinks there is huge scope for further growth and job creation going forward.

Domino’s Pizza opened its first UK outlet in Luton in 1985 and has gone on to now employ over 20,000 people in full or part time jobs. With each new Domino’s outlet creating an average of 25 to 30 new jobs, the future of pizza jobs in the UK looks pretty appetising.
