350 Scotland Jobs To Be Created By Hotel Group De Vere

14 Feb 2013

350 Scotland Jobs To Be Created By Hotel Group De Vere De Vere, the hotel and venues group, has said it will export its popular “urban village resort” idea to Scotland and will create up to 350 jobs for the Scottish economy in the next twelve months.

The De Vere Group as a whole operates in more than 60 UK locations with its hotels, lodges, conference venues, meeting rooms and wedding venue facilities.

De Vere has already seen great success with its 26 “urban village resorts” in London, Birmingham, Blackpool, Cardiff, Coventry, Hull, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Swansea and other parts of the UK.

It now hopes it can recreate the same success north of the border in Scotland and expects to advertise hundreds of hotel and hospitality jobs with its £60 million investment in the country.

Shedding more light on where the Scottish jobs might be advertised, De Vere’s Chief Executive, Robert Cook, said: “It's a booming market at the moment. We have identified Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh as the main hubs for tourism.”

Forecast to be built before the 2014 Commonwealth Games, the new Scottish urban village resort hotels will have leisure facilities such as gyms and swimming pools, along with bars and restaurants. So, the new De Vere urban village resorts should create a rich variety of full and part time job opportunities for students in key locations in Scotland.
