18 Dec 2012

GE Oil & Gas Could Bring New Graduate Jobs To Bristol GE Oil & Gas could create a range of graduate jobs in Bristol as it builds an engineering facility in the city in 2013.

The company, which is part of the wider GE Group, expects to advertise around 200 positions for strong candidates with a background or interest in project management and commercial work, in addition to the direct engineering jobs it will create.

GE offers a range of leadership programmes for graduates at either entry level, or for more experienced graduates. They also advertise internships and co-op opportunities for college students.

GE Oil & Gas vice-president of Subsea Systems, Rod Christie, said of the potential for their business in the city of Bristol: “The area has a strong pool of high integrity industries, such as aerospace, defence, nuclear and automotive that we can tap into, allowing us to realise our growth goals more readily. Establishing a stronger presence in Bristol will enable us to bring new, and much needed, skilled staff into our global organisation, supporting the capabilities of our existing sub-sea hub in Aberdeen.”

GE Oil & Gas already has a significant presence in the UK, with staff at Somerset, Leicester, Newcastle and over 1,000 people at their Aberdeen base.

Worldwide, GE Oil & Gas has a headcount of over 35,000 staff - and parent company of the group, GE, employs more than 300,000 people. The Group has operations in over 100 countries on six continents and provides graduate jobs in advanced technology, services, finance, energy, health and transportation.

We at e4s advertise a range of Bristol graduate jobs throughout the year, many of them in the engineering sector. For the latest opportunities after leaving university, check out our UK-wide page of Graduate Engineering Jobs or our city-specific Bristol Graduate Jobs page.
