Business Park Purchase Could Create 600 Shropshire Jobs

30 Apr 2012

Business Park Purchase Could Create 600 Shropshire Jobs A yet-to-be-revealed company could be set to invest in a Market Drayton business park and create as many as 600 full and part time Shropshire jobs in the process.

The business park, which has an estimated value of over £3.5 million and spans over 13 acres, had been earmarked for a sales pitch of the available units on an individual basis. If the current negotiations go to plan, though, then the whole site could be sold off in one swift deal.

Business and enterprise service manager at Shropshire Council, Mark Pembleton, said of the developments at the Market Drayton business park: “We have someone who is making an offer to develop the park with office and industrial units. We are looking at hopefully creating up to 600 jobs at the park. We want to have as many jobs as possible and get quality jobs.”

Mr Pembleton added that it was great news for Shropshire and Market Drayton as they have been advertising the business park for sale for the last year and a half. He was keen, however, to stress that negotiations with the mystery company were still ongoing so there were still many aspects of the deal to explore.
