Boris Johnson On Mission To Create Part Time London Jobs
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has said he wants to help generate over 20,000 part time jobs in London over the next four years.

Mr Johnson says he will initiate over 7,000 new part time jobs in the Greater London Authority and will try to use connections and campaigning to add thousands more part time vacancies in the London private sector.

In particular, Mr Johnson is focused on using part time jobs to get mothers back into work after new research reveals that the capital city is home to the biggest levels of maternal unemployment in the United Kingdom.

Mr Johnson said he would lead by example in creating new part time jobs in London by instigating new flexible jobs in his own authority:

“We believe we can generate 7,500 part-time jobs across the GLA Group by 2015. But it also means a new campaign working with employers so that they show more flexibility and match women with skills with part-time job shares, helping to create more than 20,000 part-time jobs in total.”

“We must do more to fight against all the barriers to growth and employment for women with children to return to work through part-time jobs,” added Mr Johnson.

Mr Johnson may well manage to create thousands of part time jobs in London within the next few years, but we also advertise thousands of opportunities for flexible work in the capital ourselves. Throughout the year there are literally tons and tons of part time vacancies in London – and we try to bring you as many as we possibly can.
