Japanese Firm To Create 500 Car Jobs In South Wales A new manufacturing plant built by Japanese firm Toyoda Gosei will create up to 500 new full and part time jobs in South Wales over the next five years.

The company makes car parts and components for worldwide sale to car manufacturers including Nissan and Honda. The firm has made an investment of over £10 million in the 40 acre manufacturing facility at Gorseinon in the north west of Swansea. Toyoda Gosei also has another base at Rotherham in South Yorkshire.

First Minister of Wales, Carwyn Jones, spoke about the new Wales jobs at the grand opening of the new plant last week:

“This is another vote of confidence in Wales and Welsh manufacturing. This investment, supported by the Welsh Government, will create 500 new highly skilled jobs. This is a real boost for the local economy,” said Mr Jones.

The First Minister added that the government in Wales would continue to do all that they could to help the Japanese car company grow and become even more prosperous in the future.
