Optical Express, the eye specialist company, is set to expand its UK base with 24 new clinics in a move which will create at least 100 new full or part time jobs in Glasgow.

Optical Express currently employs around 3,000 staff and has over 180 outlets in the UK and Europe. The new expansion plan will create dozens of new customer care jobs at their call centre offices in Glasgow.

The company provides laser eye surgery along with a range of other eye health services and cosmetic surgery. It hopes that its new outlets in the UK will bring its services to a much wider client base and that its Glasgow recruits will help them to keep them happy.

Director of Operations at Optical Express, Hugh Kerr, explained the motivation behind the company’s current expansion plans: “Our strategy is to continue to invest in our service offering to deliver the best eye care treatment solution available in the UK, whether that be spectacles, contact lenses or laser eye surgery.”

“This investment and recruitment drive underscores our commitment to deliver the most technologically advanced service in the UK but also at the lowest possible cost to the consumer,” added Mr Kerr.
