21 Feb 2012

600 Cardiff Jobs At Conduit Conduit, a provider of business process outsourcing, has said it will create 600 new full or part time jobs in Cardiff before the end of this year.

After securing a new contract for contact centre services with British Gas, Conduit has already started to look for 320 new recruits and will be advertising almost 300 more full or part time Cardiff jobs before the end of 2012.

Conduit already employs close to 2,000 staff in Wales at their Cardiff and Swansea bases. The 600 new vacancies will be based at the company’s new Fusion Point offices in Cardiff city centre rather than at their older offices at Cardiff Gate.

First Minister of Wales, Carwyn Jones, said of the new Cardiff jobs that Conduit are set to create: “Today’s announcement is yet another indication that Welsh Government policies are having a beneficial effect supporting the economy and creating jobs during these difficult times. Professional and financial services are a key growth sector for the Welsh economy and I am delighted that Conduit is yet again expanding its operations in Wales.”

Denis Creighton, chief executive of Conduit in Europe, was full of praise for Wales as a very successful location for his company. He said that Wales generated better customer service and performance indicators than in any of the other nine countries in which it operates.

“We are delighted to open this new centre and create more than 600 jobs this year. Fusion Point 1 will be the flagship of our growing operation,” added Mr Creighton.
