Positive News On Temporary Jobs & Finance Work

The Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) has released some positive news on the temporary jobs front which should give encouragement to anyone looking for short term work.

Commenting on the Report On Jobs which the REC produces jointly with KPMG, the Confederation said that the number of temporary jobs in the healthcare sector had ‘increased significantly’ and that other sectors had also continued to create new short term and contract work at a steady rate.

There was an increase in the number of temporary jobs on offer in the IT, Engineering, Construction, Secretarial and Clerical sectors and some expected growth in the accountancy and financial services industry for 2012.

Speaking about the Accounting & Financial Services sector, REC Accounting & executive member Steve Bellemy said: “We are already seeing a number of clients releasing vacancies on their return from the holidays and have more still who are talking positively for this quarter. In particular we are seeing demand from employers in manufacturing, engineering and professional services where there remains a lack of quality candidates for accounting roles.”

Fellow member Chris Croucher added that the insurance sector had performed steadily in December and was feeling positive about the growth of the sector in 2012.
