The insurance company Hastings Direct has announced plans that will create up to 200 new Sussex jobs at its Bexhill offices in the county.
The company, one of the biggest employers in Sussex, is expanding further after posting strong profit growth this year with its home insurance and vehicle insurance products.
The company has already recruited 400 new staff members this year to take their current headcount of full and part time workers to over 1,100 workers. The new recruits will increase the headcount at Hastings Direct by almost another 20 per cent.
Although the 200 new jobs on offer are full-time equivalent positions, Hastings Direct says it welcomes applications from people interested in job sharing or anyone looking for part time work in Sussex at the weekends or in the evenings.
Vacancies are available in various roles including insurance underwriting, claims, customer services, IT and marketing. Opportunities range from entry level jobs to senior roles at the burgeoning Sussex operation.
Director of Human Resources, Amanda Menahem, said Hastings Direct was a big success story in the United Kingdom and was a fantastic business to work for.
“As our business expands, we need to fill roles in all areas from finance to facilities, IT, marketing and our call centres. We are committed to growing our people and continue to invest heavily in staff development; we have doubled our leadership and development programme and will create college leaver and graduate schemes later in the year,” said Ms Menahem.
