Morrisons To Till Up 7,000 Full Or Part Time Jobs In 2012

15 Dec 2011

Morrisons To Till Up 7,000 Full Or Part Time Jobs In 2012 Morrisons, the fourth biggest supermarket chain in the UK, says it will create 7,000 new full or part time jobs in 2012 as it opens stores in new locations and improves its supply network across the United Kingdom.

Around a quarter of all households in the UK are not within easy reach of a Morrisons outlet and the company plans to redress that balance by opening 25 new stores next year.

The full and part time vacancies which Morrisons will advertise will be in a variety of roles, ranging from skilled jobs for butchers and fishmongers, to general supermarket vacancies and fresh food production.

The majority of the new full and part time jobs will be filled by people in the local areas where the new stores will open – but around a quarter of the vacancies will be filled nationally.

Somewhere in the region of 300 full or part time jobs will also be advertised at Morrisons’ distribution facility in Bridgewater, Somerset as the retailer looks to improve its supply chain and distribution logistics throughout the UK.

Director of Human Resources at Morrisons, Norman Pickavan, spoke of the new jobs that his supermarket is creating during challenging times: “Despite the difficult economic conditions, Morrisons continues to have ambitious growth plans and that means we will be searching for people to join us in the communities in which we operate.”

We regularly advertise full and part time jobs at supermarkets in communities all over the UK. The great thing about supermarket work is that it fits in well with the student lifestyle since the shifts can be fitted around your study time. Do a search from our Part Time Jobs page and see what opportunities are now available in your area.
