New Call Telecom, a call centre company which relocated from India to Burnley recently, has said that it will create a further 70 new full or part time jobs in the North West as the company adds more customers.
Only around 30 staff are employed at the Time Business Park in the Simonstone area of Burnley at the moment, but the ranks will swell to over 100 when the 70 new vacancies are filled.
The good news for young people in the North West is that the company is also working with Burnley College to set up an academy for 17 to 19 year olds.
Six young people will gain access to a year of training and could qualify with an NVQ in customer service upon completion.
Speaking of the relocation back to the North West and the jobs that it will create, New Call Telecom’s Chief executive, Mr Nigel Eastwood said: “It’s really nice to be able to use Burnley College for this and to be able to contribute to an area which I feel has been greatly overlooked. Moving the contact centre back from India to Burnley has been received very well with our existing customers.”
Mr Eastwood is from the area and actually studied for his A levels at Burnley College so he is delighted that his company and the college are working together for young people in the North West town.
“We started running in July with around 20 employees and we are up to 32 now. We are having to put more people into the contact centre to deal with our growing customer base. We want to grow our business in the North-West. The academy is for young people to get their foot on the ladder,” added Mr Eastwood.
