Regatta, the outdoor gear retailer with headquarters in Manchester, will create up to 200 new full or part time Cheshire jobs over the next few years as they open a new distribution facility in Ellesmere Port.

Jobs on offer at the 400 thousand square foot centre will include office staff, management roles and shop floor workers such as pickers, packers and fork lift truck drivers. The new recruits will help Regatta deliver their goods to over 40 countries worldwide.

Regatta’s Head of Human Resources, Jo Radcliffe, said that the new Cheshire distribution facility could be up and running by November and that up to 75 people could be trained and working there by Christmas this year. The other 125 or so full or part time Cheshire jobs will be created over the next few years.

Cheshire West and Chester Council Leader Mike Jones was pleased that the new Regatta facility was going ahead and happy that the full and part time jobs would be filled by local people.

“This is wonderful news and a major step in the regeneration of Ellesmere Port. I hope there will be many more such investments to come. Having met Regatta, we have done everything possible to help the company with all aspects of the move and will continue to work in partnership with them to ensure that their local recruitment process is a success,” said Councillor Jones.
