In the next two or three years, the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will create up to 3,000 full or part time hotel jobs in Manchester and other UK locations.
Even if you haven’t heard of IHG, you will have probably heard of some of the hotel names under their wings. Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and Hotel Indigo hotels all belong to the InterContinental Hotels Group which operates much of its business on a franchise basis.
In total the Group already runs over 260 hotels in the UK, but, over the next few years, the company will take their portfolio to just short of 300 hotels as they announce plans to open at 28 more sites. With an average of over 100 vacancies at each new hotel, the company expects to advertise around 3,000 full and part time positions in the next year or two.
As well as creating Manchester hotel jobs, IHG have earmarked new hotel sites in London, Birmingham, Blackpool, Bristol, Colchester, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Southend, Walsall and York.
Giving away some details of how IHG will go about finding 3,000 people to fill their hotel vacancies, a spokesperson told the Recruiter website: “We are recruiting everything you can think of that a new hotel needs. We post all jobs on our jobsite, www.ihg.jobs, and at the same time we also post jobs on trade sites. We also try to put posters on the exteriors of the hotels.”
