900 Full & Part Time Jobs Predicted For Northumberland

20 Jul 2011

900 Full & Part Time Jobs Predicted For Northumberland A new cinema and restaurant complex could bring 900 full or part time Northumberland jobs to the town of Cramlington say the potential developers Hammerson.

The proposed development is earmarked for the Manor Walks shopping centre but planning permission has not yet been granted by Northumberland County Council. If the Council gives the project the green light in the next couple of months, then the development could get under way at the start of next year and be ready for business within twelve months.

The yet-to-be-named cinema business would provide over a third of the new full and part time jobs at the complex and other vacancies will be created at restaurants and cafes. Hammerson say that they are trying to bring famous names like Frankie and Benny’s to the Cramlington development.

“There are up to 400 jobs in the creation of the cinema, retail units and restaurants, which will be both full and part time. The cinema itself will employ up to 150 staff, and we expect a further 500 jobs for the two construction parts of the scheme for the people needed to build and fit the units,” said Mr Grinnell.

Hammerson say they will try to offer the majority of the jobs to local people and Councillor Alan Armstrong welcomed the news: “The creation of jobs is particularly pleasing because we have high levels of unemployment in Cramlington, and this will hopefully fill the gap by getting people into part-time and full-time work.”

We advertise full and part time vacancies in all counties of the UK and Northumberland is no exception. If you would like to find some part time work there then view the latest opportunities now on our Northumberland Part Time Jobs page.
