The Bureau of Investigative Journalism is currently running a very interesting internship competition which budding reporters would be mad not to enter.
The internship opportunity is open to entry level journos and recent graduates and a pro rata salary of over £16,000 is on offer for the lucky winner.
To have a chance of taking up your place on this three month journalism internship with the Bureau of Investigative Journalism you must have turned 18 by the 1st September this year and should not already be working on a national newspaper. You must also be eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
The closing date for entries is 12 August and the winner will be announced two weeks later. The internship will begin in September or October and will last until near the end of 2011.
If you are interested in trying to win this internship then you simply have to write an original journalistic article of up to 1,000 words and submit it to the non-profit organisation via email to: competition@thebureauinvestigates.com.
Any entries over 1,100 words in length will be disqualified from the competition – so make sure to check your word count before submission as it looks like this internship is going to be measured on quality rather than quantity.
