Okay, it could well be a little early in the year for some of you to be thinking about Christmas jobs while we are still only in the second week of Wimbledon - but we are going to mention these supermarket jobs anyway!

If you are a student in Lincolnshire - or are studying elsewhere in the UK but will be heading back to Lincolnshire for Christmas 2011 – then there could be a holiday job at Sainsbury’s waiting in Stamford for you.

Sainsbury’s, the supermarket retailing behemoth, has announced plans for a new store on Ryhall Road at the Markham Retail Park. The new full and part time holiday jobs at Sainsbury’s could be available in time for the Christmas season 2011 and would be of interest to students already in the area or returning for the festive period looking for holiday jobs.

Regional Development Executive for Sainsbury’s, Robert Oxley, said that they would be pleased to be able to get work underway on the new Stamford supermarket soon. If everything fell into place, he said, then they could commence work at the site (where Focus DIY now stands) as early as July.

“The development will improve the food shopping offer in Stamford, providing more choice whilst creating jobs for local people. We will keep the community updated as we progress, whilst residents living near to the store can rest assured they will be fully informed of the works taking place,” said Mr Oxley.
