400 Full Or Part Time Sainsbury’s Jobs in Birmingham There could be up to 400 full or part time Sainsbury’s jobs created in Birmingham if full permission is granted for a new store in the Longbridge area of the city.

Local developer St. Mowden is overseeing the Longbridge regeneration and has just agreed a deal to build an 85,000 square foot outlet for Sainsbury’s. If planning permission gets approval then work could start on the new store in a couple of months with a completion date pencilled in for the first half of 2013.

Mike Murray of St. Mowden said that the new full and part time jobs would be across a variety of roles and skill sets and would be a fantastic boost for local people and the region’s economy.

In total, as many as 10,000 full or part time jobs will be created by the Longbridge regeneration in Birmingham. Spanning 468 acres on the site of former British car manufacturing names like Austin, British Leyland and MG Rover, the £1 million regeneration of Longbridge will include 2,000 new homes, conference facilities and 150 thousand square feet of retail space. Bournville College is currently building a new £66 million campus in the area.

Regional development executive for Sainsbury’s, Michael Adenmosun, recently spoke about the new Sainsbury’s jobs that will open up at Longbridge, Birmingham: “The proposed store will create new jobs for local people and bring great food at fair prices to the community of Longbridge. We are looking forward to playing a part in the area’s future economic growth and working with St Modwen, the community and its representatives to deliver the store.”
