Standard Chartered Bank, which has its UK base in London, is looking to fill 500 graduate finance jobs worldwide each year from now on.
The sponsor of Liverpool football club needs graduates in over 30 countries around the world to take its global finance business forward.
Standard Chartered Bank has over 1,700 outlets in over 70 countries and believes that graduates are the future of their business. In the next few years they are looking to fill graduate jobs in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
Two graduate programmes will be on offer at Standard Chartered. There are likely to be 300 graduate finance jobs available on the company’s international management programme, which lasts for 2 years.
There is also a fast-track programme on offer and 200 graduate vacancies will be advertised. Lasting just 1 year, that programme will look for graduate relationship managers to help them out with their core businesses in regional countries.
The head of talent acquisition Standard Chartered, Eden Britt, gave an indication of the sort of graduate talent that they will be searching for: “To help us become the world's best international bank, we want to recruit graduates from different backgrounds who have the potential to be great future people, product and thought leaders and who can deliver great customer service.”
Greg Barber, head of MA and Graduate Talent Acquisition, remarked that the graduate programmes were a route in to the upper echelons of Standard Chartered Bank. He said that these graduate jobs were a ‘springboard’ to taking up a future place as a leader at the bank.
In order to fill the graduate finance jobs, Standard Chartered Bank has enlisted the help of human resources recruitment firm Kenexa.
