400 Lancashire Jobs At Burnley Shopping Centre

30 Apr 2011

400 Lancashire Jobs At Burnley Shopping Centre Anyone looking for student jobs in Lancashire will be interested to hear that 400 new full or part time jobs could be created at the new shopping centre which is to be built in Burnley.

Planning permission for the former Oval area of Curzon Street has finally been given the go ahead after a long consulation period.

The new shopping centre will have space for 17 outlets and big names such as Next and Primark could soon be looking for staff to fill their retail jobs at the Lancashire complex.

Burnley councillor, Peter Doyle, talked up the new full and part time jobs that are set to be created: “This site and this development is going to give an awful lot of employment and that is one thing this town desperately needs. It has to go ahead now, not only to improve the shopping experience for Burnley people, but those in Pendle, the Ribble Valley and hopefully Blackburn.”

Not everyone completely agrees, however. Peter Pike, an ex-MP for Burnley, is very much in favour of investment in Burnley but says that the wrong site has been chosen for the development. Mr Pike said that there were a couple of more appropriate sites that could have been picked out for the new shopping centre.

These shopping centre positions would make perfect student jobs so share the news with your friends using the Facebook and Twitter buttons below. If Twitter and Facebook aren’t your thing then use whichever is your favourite way of sharing online to get the message out there.
