travelodge budget hotel management apprenticeship scheme launches
07-Apr-2011

Travelodge Budget Hotel Management Apprenticeship Scheme Launches Travelodge has just launched a new budget hotel management apprenticeship scheme for 500 school leavers who are interested in hotel jobs as a career option.

The hotel chain has already started looking for the first crop of youngsters to fill 50 places this summer.

The programme is called JuMP (Junior Management Programme) and aims to give school leavers work experience in the hotel industry and could lead to a management position within three years. The skill base covered by the programme will include retail, marketing and customer services and successful applicants will gain qualifications along the way.

John Hayes, the Skills Minister, applauded the announcement and that, “Apprenticeships are a great way for young people to get the training they need to build successful careers, and for businesses to train a new generation of employees with the skills that drive growth.”

After completing the Travelodge JuMP programme, the recruits will attend a 3 month management course before possibly taking up a hotel management role with the company.

By the time they complete the programme, the apprentices could have earned up to £30,000 and will have a fantastic work experience background in the hotel industry.

Chief Executive Officer of Travelodge, Guy Parsons, said of their new hotel job opportunities for young people: “Our nationwide JuMP programme offers school leavers an alternative career choice to going to university. The fast track management programme provides a real job, with the opportunity of on the job training throughout the business, combined with further education and the opportunity to earn up to £30,000.”

Hotel jobs are available in most cities of the United Kingdom so try searching for vacancies in your locality with e4s now. For example, anyone in the north of England might find our Hotel Jobs in Manchester page useful.
