Job Index Shows Growth Of North East Jobs

Job Index Shows Growth Of North East Jobs Anyone looking for full or part time jobs in the North East should take strong encouragement from the latest job index by Reed.

The index for January showed a record surge in job demand for the North East region with numbers up 27% on December.

This is great news for jobseekers looking for either full or part time work in the North East.

Also showing a strong increase in job demand was the West Midlands region which now has over 20 per cent more job vacancies listed than it did when the index began 13 months back.

Overall in the UK, the number of full or part time jobs advertised rose 9 per cent on December and the index now stands 22 points higher than it did in December 2009.

Most of the increase in full and part time job vacancies came from the private sector with the public sector still struggling to produce new jobs.

Salaries, however, have failed to match the job creation increase with the average wage staying at the same level as December - which actually equates to a 1 per cent drop from 13 months ago.

Despite the downbeat news on wage levels, it’s fantastic to see some of the regions of Britain start to record increases in job demand and we are always eager to help you find full and part time jobs no matter where you live. We have specialised pages for part time jobs in the West Midlands, North East Part Time Jobs and vacancy listings for most other areas of the UK.
