IT services and training company FDM Group has once again announced it is doubling the number of graduate IT jobs on offer at the firm.
As things currently stand, the FDM Group will have 1,000 new graduate positions up for grabs next year. In 2009, FDM recruited fewer than 250 graduates but has rapidly increased the graduate recruitment drive for its IT jobs since.
This year the IT firm has placed 500 graduates into jobs and now they are set to double that figure again for 2011. If the company were to continue this exponential rate of graduate hiring then they would stand to have more graduate vacancies on offer than the total population of Great Britain by around the year 2028.
That would certainly relax some of the competition for graduate IT jobs in London and other corners of the UK!
Marketing manager Nabila Salem of FDM said: “A combination of acquiring 20 new clients in the past 12 months and extending our service delivery worldwide has led to a huge growth in client demand for IT consultants. This year we have reached our recruitment target of 500 and we shall continue to recruit due to the amount of highly skilled applicants we are receiving.”
FDM Group supply IT services and training to the finance, retail and telecom sectors, amongst others. Their client portfolio includes huge international companies such as HSBC, UPS and BSkyB. They have UK bases in Brighton, London & Manchester and overseas offices in New York, Hong Kong, Frankfurt, Luxembourg and Zurich.
Candidates who secure a graduate IT job with FDM Group have to settle for 12 weeks of unpaid work as new graduate recruits. Once they have proven their commitment thought they can expect a salary in excess of £20,000 in the first year with the company. By the end of the second year, the salary plus commission for an FDM graduate can amount to £27,000.
