Motorway Work To Create 11,000 Full Or Part Time Exeter Jobs 11,000 full or part time Exeter jobs could be created now that the Department for Transport has signed off a £10.6 million scheme to upgrade the M5’s Junction 29 which feeds the Exeter area.

Once the motorwat improvements are completed it is expected that businesses will start to move forward on plans for the Skypark, Cranbrook and Science Park developments which have been awaiting news of the Government’s decision.

Hugo Swire, an MP in the region said that getting the go ahead for the upgrade of Junction 29 was fantastic news for the area which would be a shot in the arm for the local economy and jobs in Exeter.

Mr. Swire said: "This now means we can push ahead with these exciting plans which will bring over 11,000 jobs and increased prosperity to our part of the world. We were in tough competition with many worthy projects up and down the country and given the tough economic climate I think we should consider ourselves fortunate to have got the go ahead."

Six other local authority transport schemes were approved by the Department for Transport this week and the combined budget for all seven projects is £1.6 billion.
