FDM Group, a major provider of IT jobs for graduates in London and elsewhere around the UK, is piloting a Student Brand Manager Initiative at three universities in the UK this month.
In an effort to further increase the level of the brand awareness of the FDM Group on UK campuses, the IT firm is looking for Student Brand Managers to create a buzz about them amongst students and graduates. The ultimate aim is to increase the number of graduates applying for FDM Group jobs in IT.
At first the student initiative will be run at Kingston University in London, the University of Brighton, and the University of Manchester. FDM Group has offices in all three of those university cities.
If the Student Brand Manger scheme works out well at the pilot universities then FDM Group will role it out across more campuses to reach a broader network of students and graduates. They currently have ties with over 100 UK universities and are attending many graduate recruitment fairs during October and November.
Katie Llewellyn-Cripps, of London’s Kingston University said that FDM Group had placed more of their students into graduate IT jobs this year then ever before. Llewellyn-Cripps said that, “The Student Brand Manager Initiative is a great way for students to acquire commercial awareness, experience in taking on a position of responsibility and the chance to be involved with an extra-curricular activity. We work collaboratively to create and deliver initiatives to encourage students to develop their employability and awareness of the IT industry, which in turn, has led to strong career prospects for our students and graduates.”
FDM Group is also in the running for a couple of awards at the National Graduate Recruitment Awards 2010 tonight.
