Would you consider attending a boot camp to get a graduate job in consultancy? Don’t worry these Accenture boot camps are not quite as worrying as they might sound – and very often a full time graduate job is offered at the end of them.
Accenture, the worldwide management consulting, technology services and outsourcing specilaist has just completed another round of boot camps for students looking for graduate jobs in consulting. They started the boot camps at the end of last year to give potential candidates a better idea about what a career in conculting involves. Now, after four round of the Accenture boot camps, most of the graduates involved have received and accepted a graduate position at the end of the schemes.
However, the company are keen to stress that even those who do not receive a graduate job at the end of the three day boot camps will not have attended in vain. Head of graduate recruitment at Accenture in the UK, Annabel Nichols, says that the graduates, “get an opportunity to work with some of our inspirational people and receive top-quality coaching from experts. They go away with presentation skills, problem-solving techniques, teamworking and networking skills."
30 graduates or undergraduates are selected for each of the boot camps, but other than the few clues that Nichols gives in the quote above, the actual events involved are kept as a bit of a surprise by Accenture. The company’s website says that they do not need or want applicants to do any preparation for the 48 hours of boot camp activity.
