LSE And Cambridge Students Receive Internships With Tata ISES The London School of Economics (LSE) and the University of Cambridge have teamed up with Tata International Social Entrepreneurship Scheme (ISES) to offer internships to their students.

Six students from the University of Cambridge and three from The London School of Economics will complete two month long summer internships at six of Tata’s businesses in India – Tata Steel, Tata Power, Tata Motors, Tata Chemicals, Tata Teleservices and Indian Hotels. The remaining internship places with Tata have been filled by students from the University of California, Berkeley in the USA.

The interns come from a variety of academic disciplines like anthropology, public administration and psychology.

Starting on July 5, the Cambridge and LSE interns will get experience of social and community development issues during their time on the internships. In return, Tata hope that the talented international students will bring a fresh outlook and perspective to issues such as health, agriculture, livelihoods, self-help groups and engagement within the community.

Speaking of the internships, executive director at Tata Sons, R Gopalakrishnan, said: “In its third year now, the Tata ISES continues to build a strong and genuine commitment to sustainability and development among outstanding international students. This year, the London School of Economics has joined the Tata ISES programme and we look forward to a mutually beneficial association.”
