Anyone looking for graduate accounting jobs in London – or anywhere else in the UK for that matter – should feel glad to know that the skills they possess are highly sought after at the moment.
Advantage Professional, a financial recruitment firm, has produced a report showing that there has been a rise in demand for people in the accounting and finance sector as businesses strive to grow.
In particular, the market and salary report for 2010 showed a marked increase in demand for management accountants with 40 per cent of the companies surveyed suggesting those accounting jobs in London and elsewhere were most difficult to fill. 27 per cent said that financial and business analyst skills were also very well regarded at the moment.
In more good news for London accounting jobs for graduates and others with experience in the finance sector, the survey also reported that 34 per cent of companies were hoping to entice quality recruits to stay with them by offering additional bonuses.
David Geller of Advantage Professional summed up the survey’s findings saying: “There’s been a marked increase in the number of vacancies registered across the board. The gradual move towards growth means that we’re seeing a rise in demand for skill sets in forecasting, budgeting, planning and analysis while business critical roles in all areas continue to be filled.”
