Over 300 New Full Or Part Time Jobs In Wales Energy

31 May 2010

Over 300 New Full Or Part Time Jobs In Wales Energy Over 300 new full or part time jobs in Wales will be created by two separate companies operating in the green energy sector.

Corus Colors and UPM Paper Mills have both said that they will have 160 full or part time jobs on offer to help them grow their green businesses. Ministers in Wales have welcomed the new jobs and said that the manufacturing industry in the country will help to bring Britain out of the recession.

Corus Colors needs to recruit new staff to manufacture its superthin solar panels which will help buildings to produce their own energy. The method is very similar to the photosynthesis process that plants use in nature to collect and store energy from the sun.

And UPM Paper Mills are looking for a further 160 people to take up full or part time jobs and help them with their eco-friendly paper, cardboard, metal and plastic recycling business. Construction of the facility at Shotton is expected to be finished by January next year.

Speaking of the new full or part time jobs in Wales, Welsh Assembly deputy first minister Ieuan Wyn Jones said: “Green jobs will play a key part in the development of the Welsh economy and modern recycling facilities like this one will be central to this. It’s vital that we have these strategic partnerships between companies, WAG and universities to bring people into these jobs.”
