Whitbread PLC, the hotel, pub and restaurant company, has said that it will be creating 1,000 new full or part time catering and hospitality jobs in London and other regions of the UK over the next 12 months.
Whitbread, whose famous brand names include Beefeater, Costa Coffee, Premier Inn, Brewers Fayre, Table Table and Taybarns, currently employs around 33,000 people in full and part time catering and hospitality positions in its 1,800 outlets.
Around this time last year, Whitbread announced 1,000 new hospitality and catering jobs but actually surpassed that figure and added a further 250 full and part time positions.
The new catering and hospitality jobs in London and elsewhere for the 2010/11 financial year have been created by an expansion of the Premier Inn hotel portfolio in Preston and Liverpool and Costa Coffee outlets in London, Newcastle and Glasgow. There will be further full and part time hospitality jobs on offer in Newport, Whitstable, Sunbury, Burgess Hill and Bury St Edmunds.
The catering and hospitality vacancies on offer for this financial year will be bar staff jobs, front of house positions, reception management, baristas and housekeeping roles.
