Helping their clients with Assurance, Tax, Corporate Finance and Advisory services, Ernst & Young offers a number of undergraduate and graduate opportunities all aimed at helping people to achieve their potential.
Taking place for 2 weeks, the Easter Work Experience Programme is a short introduction to the Technology, Security and Risk Services team. One day's training will get you up and running, before you spend the rest of the two weeks with a client-facing project team.
It may be ‘only’ two weeks, but previous students say it’s a really intensive experience. Ernst & Young’s aim is to give you a full flavour of the kind of work they do, in a relatively short space of time.
Sheena completed a Work Experience Programme and has subsequently joined Ernst & Young in a graduate role. Sheena says ‘the Work Experience Programme has offered me a unique insight into the opportunities and culture here, and made my decision to return a straightforward one.’
The programme is designed for first year students, and for students that shine, they are invited for an interview for the Summer Internship the following year - moving you one step closer to a guaranteed graduate role.
The Work Experience Programme develops personal skills in teamwork, communication and gives you an insight into your own strengths. Stephen Isherwood, Graduate Recruitment Senior Manager at Ernst & Young says “work experience can be a great way to gain an advantage over your peers in the job market. Students who get good work experience tend to have better business knowledge and are more certain about the career path they want to follow. The majority of students who do a placement with us will end up with a graduate offer”.
