Barclays has launched its 2007 student and graduate packages - and is offering free cinema tickets to student customers.
Students need to open both a Student Additions bank account (depositing at least £500) and a Student Barclaycard to be able to claim the 12 free tickets for use in selected cinemas.
The bank's student account also offers a £1,000 interest-free overdraft for the first year of study, rising to a maximum of £2,000 in following years.
Andrew Harris, head of current accounts at Barclays, said: "We understand that being a student can be financially demanding and that there are many other things students want to be doing rather than worrying about their finances.
"Barclays is therefore offering a straightforward way to take the hassle out of managing money with a comprehensive package and financial support to enable students to make the most of university life."
If graduates pay £5 monthly, they are eligible to for the Graduate Additions Current Account, which offers university leavers an interest-free overdraft of up to £3,000 in their first year of graduation, reducing yearly thereafter.
Barclays is the latest in a series of high street banks to attempt to entice students this year with packages aimed specifically at them.
Natwest recently launched its 200 student package which offered students a free five year Young Persons Railcard, worth £100.
