A graduate who set up a travel agency for extreme holiday experiences has won a prestigious entrepreneurship award.

Tom Morgan founded The League of Adventurists after his travels as a student.

As reported by the Independent, Mr Morgan explained: "As a student I got frustrated with guides like the Lonely Planet that took all the fun out of traveling.

"I found that when I had most fun was when I went off the edge of the map and got lost."

The business took off at the 2004 Mongol Rally, with a one-off race through bandit country in "any crap car that has an engine with no more than one litre of power".

Thrill-seekers can now book similar daredevil trips all over the world. One such experience is the Rickshaw Run, a race of rickshaws through India's mountains, jungles and dirt tracks.

Next year Mr Morgan plans to run a rally to the Cameroon and a dugout canoe race down the Amazon.

And it seems you can live the extreme dream and still make a living. The adventurer recently became the winner of the Shell LIVEwire Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

He was credited with not only making lots of money, but also setting a new trend in the travel market.
