Lloyds TSB Scotland has launched its 2007 Student account, offering students a number of money-saving deals.
The package includes an interest-free overdraft of up to £1,500 in the first year of study, rising to £2,000 in later years.
Students choosing the account will also get a free NUS Extra card, thought to save the typical student around £50 a year in various discounts, as well as up to £75 cash and free mobile phone insurance.
Certain free music downloads, a free driving lesson and a year's membership of the Youth Hostel Association are also on offer.
Lisa Stephenson, director of marketing at Lloyds TSB Scotland, said: "Starting at university is an exciting time but for many it is also the first time students have had to think about managing their own money.
"Selecting the right student account is essential and it is important to do a bit of careful research.
"This year we have focused on a mixture of benefits and special offers to suit everyone's needs and - to help student's manage their finances - we are offering a tiered, interest-free overdraft in the first year."
Scottish students have had a bit of financial pressure taken off them recently, with the announcement last week that the £2,000 fee Scottish students currently pay after graduation is to be scrapped.
