Are you the next Sugar?

12 Jul 2007

Are you the next Sugar? A course has been launched to help potential entrepreneurs learn how to set up their own business.

The Certificate in Business Enterprise is run by the International Association of Book-keepers, a leading body that oversees professional training in qualifications for business.

IAB Qualifications for Business, will provide the next generation of Alan Sugars and Richard Bransons with a formal qualification to hone their entrepreneurial expertise.

Participants will learn about building business relationships, developing financial plans, selling products and services and preparing business plans.

Malcolm Trotter, chief executive of the IAB, said: "Although there are agencies currently offering help, advice and training to those wishing to start up in business, this is the first course to offer students the opportunity to gain an accredited IAB qualification."

As reported by Startups.co.uk, he explained that the course should help young businessmen and women "step out with confidence, ready to launch their new business, knowing they have the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed".

In recent months several top employers have voiced concerns that graduate applicants may have top academic qualifications but they do not have the necessary business sense to properly contribute to their chosen firm.

Graduates wanting to set up their own companies may also want to consider this sort of specialist training to help develop their business know-how.
