University students to take fashion to Milan

30 Mar 2007

University students to take fashion to Milan Students from Buckinghamshire and Chilterns University College (BCUC) will be showcasing some of their work at an international design show in Milan.

A group of 35 students will be joining designers and retail buyers in the Italian city for one of the world's biggest trade fairs.

The BCUC students will be showing work based on the theme of 'ten', marking the tenth year the college has exhibited at the Milan fair.

Neil Austin, furniture course leader at BCUC, said: "The work that will be shown has been selected from eight courses run by the newly-formed faculty of creativity and culture, and includes furniture, jewellery, poetry and a play script based on five people with dual personalities.

"It is a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their work and for visitors to the fair to see the work of the top designers of the future."

The Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan takes place from April 18th to 23rd and was launched 46 years ago.
