Outsourcing firm 'wants UK graduates' India-based outsourcing giant Wipro is looking to recruit UK graduates to better understand the needs of its British customers, according to reports.

Wipro already has two UK centres in Reading and London, with 1,800 employees from within the UK.

According to the BBC, a Sunday Telegraph report has suggested that Wipro will start to look at UK universities for its recruitment.

The software specialist is the largest independent R&D services provider in the world and has 53,000 employees.

It also has 592 clients, including five of the top ten most innovative companies in the world according to the 2005 Technology Review Innovation Index.

The Telegraph report also noted that graduates may spend time in India as part of a training programme with Wipro, should it decide to recruit UK graduates.

Wipro has over 5,000 consultants throughout North America, Europe and Japan. It also has more than 10,000 itinerant employees.
