Student wins young business award

03 Apr 2007

Student wins young business award A student studying for a BTEC in business has won the Peterborough Regional College's business student of the year award, according to reports.

Kayleigh Hunter beat 50 other competitors to seal the prize and she hopes her win will help her achieve the job she wants.

The business student hopes to achieve a place on the trainee buyer scheme at the City-based Anglia Co-op.

She told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph: "That's my ambition and my current studies, my part-time job with the company's Anglia Home Furnishing division and now this award will hopefully help me get there.

"The course has allowed me to get a really broad view of business including marketing, finance, HR and management. Entering the award gave me some really useful tips for the future and I was delighted to win."

Pat Richards, curriculum team manager, told the paper the course was a "good insight" into what students should expect from the business world.
