Get involved in Graduate Fashion Week

14 May 2007

Get involved in Graduate Fashion Week If you're a fashion student, upcoming Graduate Fashion Week is the perfect place to network, swap ideas and get an idea of the competition.

Recruiters and recruitment consultants from some of the biggest fashion houses will be attending the event.

Even if students are not exhibiting their work, industry experts encourage them to get involved.

Richard Bradbury, managing director of River Island, told FemaleFirst.co.uk: "[Students] can come along and they can talk to people at River Island and understand what kind of jobs exist.

"The fashion industry is not just about designing clothes, it's about great marketing, great journalism, great PR, great buying, great visual work in store and about having great looking shops."

Caryn Franklin, TV presenter and fashion expert agreed. She commented: "We're looking for graduates and students to marry their technical excellence with their creative vision. This is the space for them to create something that really shows the industry what they are about."

The event runs from June 3rd until June 6th. During that time the work of more than 1,000 UK fashion students will be displayed.
