Q. I am looking for a job, do I have to register with E4S first?


A. No. You can browse the website, search and apply for jobs without registering. Registering for a jobseeker account brings with it many benefits including: Email Job Alerts, Application History, Fast-track Applications, Saved Jobs and Forum Posting. If you'd like to Register Here


Q. Do I have to be a student to use this website?


A. No. Although E4S's primary aim is to find students both job vacancies and money saving bargains, anyone can apply for the jobs if they fit the requirements and buy through our dealzone. Go ahead... get involved!


Q. I am looking for a part-time job, can E4S help me?


A. Yes we can. E4S specialises in finding part-time work. Visit the Part-Time Job Search and fill in your job requirements. If we have any jobs that match your requirements they will be displayed and you can apply there and then. If we don't have any jobs, Sign Up for an account and setup email job alerts so that when jobs that do fit your criteria get posted, you'll be emailed immediately.


Q. I am looking for a summer job after my studies have finished, is there anything for me on E4S?


A. Yes we try to have both current vacancies and future opportunities live on the site. If we don't have any jobs, Sign Up for an account and setup email job alerts so that when jobs that do fit your criteria get posted, you'll be emailed immediately.


Q. I am looking for a job, but English isn't my first language, can I still apply?


A. Yes. The majority of job vacancies on out website require fluent English speakers but English does not have to be your first language.


Q. I am an International student looking to work in the Untied Kingdom, are there job vacancies for me on the site?


A. It depends if you fit the specific requirements of individual job vacancies. Current international students from the European Economic Area do not need permission to work in the United Kingdom. If you are from other countries please visit the "Education UK" website for more information on your working rights.


Q. What is the minimum age to get the minimum wage in the United Kingdom to get a job?


A. With a few exceptions, all workers in the UK aged 16 or over are legally entitled to be paid a minimum amount per hour. This is regardless of the kind of work they do or the size and type of company. The rate is reviewed every year, and any increases take place in October.


Q. I would like to send my CV in to see if there are any vacancies that fit my requirements, where do I send it to?


A. Don't send your CV in. Our website lets you browse all the job vacancies on our database online from where you can apply directly to jobs that you like. Where neccessary you will be asked to attach your CV to your job application. In the coming months you will have the ability to upload you CV to your jobseeker account in order to make attaching it to job applications quicker.


Q. I am looking for a summer business internship, can you help?


A. Yes. We get a selection of the top business internship vacancies in banking, finance and other sectors throughout the year. Summer / Easter Internships and 12 month placement are advertised on the website at different times of the year. Keep a look out for open applications on the Internship Search


Q. When do summer internship applications open?


A. Summer Internship applications generally open during September / October time of the previous year. Example: Summer 2009 internship applications will in generally begin to open in September 2008 onwards


Q. How long do internships generally last for?


A. In general, Summer Internships are 6 to 8 weeks, Easter internships are 2 weeks and 12 month placements are... you guessed it, 12 months. Some law firms offer week long internships to get a taste of the goings on in a legal practice.


Q. I have registered for a Jobseeker Account but forgotten my login details. What shall I do?


A. You can get your username and password details emailed to you by visiting Login Reminder and filling out the required fields.


Q. I saw a job vacancy on the website last week that I was interested in, but it has since disappeared, can I still find the details?


A. Maybe. If you kept the "Job Reference Number" you can type it in the keyword search. If you have tried searching for it, the job may have now gone offline. Job vacancies come and go every day on E4S so it's best to apply as quickly as possible so as not to be dissappointed.


Q. I applied for a job vacancy a while ago but have yet to hear whether I got accepted. What do I do next?


A. When you applied for the vacancy the employer may have included their contact details on the application confirmation you received with which you could get in touch with them. If you have not heard from an employer regarding the status of your application, it may be that they are still processing applications but it may also be that yours has slipped through the net. Unfortunately Employment4students cannot get in touch with Employers to chase the status of individual applications.


Q. I'd like to apply for a job vacancy but don't have an up-to-date CV. Where do I start?

Q. What is the tax free allowance limit on earnings?


A. The current personal tax allowance for the 2008 - 09 tax year is £5435. If you're worried you've overpaid tax and are due a repayment check out the Student Tax Calculator on the HM Revenue & Customs website.
