LoveFilm 14 day unlimited free DVD rental.  The range of DVDs is very good but turnaround time is rumoured to sometime be slow and they send 2 DVDs in one envelope on occasions, which means you can't always send back a DVD even though you have watched it as you need the envelope for the other one.  During the free DVD rental period this can be a pain, so watch out for it.  Request extra envelopes immediately to make sure this doesn't happen.  After the trial

Tescos Tescos are everywhere these days, but they seem to be doing everything well.  In the case of DVD rental, they are offering 1 DVD rental at a time, but unlimited per month for just £7.97.  Again no late fees, 1st class and over 40,000 titles so not to be sniffed at!  They also offer 14 days free DVD rental where you choose the package that suits you, up to 3 films at a time totally free, every little helps!  After the trial you can get 1 DVD at a time for £9.99 per month, 2 DVD at a time for £12.99 or 3 films for £14.99.
Blockbuster ScreenSelect are another big boy online.  They are reputably quick at sending out the DVDs and the turnaround is also good, so you won't be waiting long.  The selection of film titles is also very high, 53,000+ titles which they claim to be the best in the UK.  In terms of free DVD rental, they are offering a free 21 day trial, or 5 films, whichever finishes sooner.  If you don't want to carry on make sure that all DVDs are returned within the 21 days and you won't pay if you don't want to carry on.  You can cancel at any time as long as you DVDs have been returned.  A good option, but again, take the trial and check them out.

Easy Cinema Stelios is at it again, and this time it's even cheaper! Using the same no hassle, no late free appraoch, Easy Cinema allows you to rent DVDs for only £1.99 delivered to your door. But Easy DVD is different. When you sign up, you buy creidts. You can buy a batch of 4 creidts for £7.96, 7 for £13.93 or 10 credits for £19.90. You can then use these credits to select the DVDs you wish to watch either 1,2 or 3 at a time. This way, there is no direct debit and therefore no strings, no contracts, canel any time. You simply pay for the DVDs you want to rent and nothing more. So if you are worried you won't use the service enough to warrant a direct debit with one of the other online DVD rental stores, these are your guys. Credit last 90 days, which should be plenty of time if you choose the right package for you.

Easy Cinema online DVD rental is powered by Love Film so you also benefit from the 56,000+ titles and FREE Postage both ways for your DVD. There is no free dvd rental on this occassion so maybe try some of the free trials first and then see if you like these guys. Click on the eassy cinema logo to learn more......
Best advice

- Use them all, they're all offering a free trial so why not use them to make up you mind.

- Make sure you keep an eye on the time limit of a trial, set reminders in your phone and make sure you send back all DVDs in plenty of time and cancel online.

- Some DVDs may come in the same envelope, make sure you send them back the same way so you don't end up a DVD you can't send back. Alternatively, request more envelopes from the rental company.

- If you decide to carry on, make sure your rental queue is filled to between 15 and 20.  Some of the top titles may not be in stock, or the more leftfield movies, so they may not be sent out until they arrive.

-  Make sure you keep an eye on the priority of you films, put the films you want most to the top.

- Lastly, enjoy, this is the best way to get seriously into films, arrive home everyday to find something new and in a student house, essential.  have fun and remember the free trials!
