Going to a gig or the theatre can be expensive, but maybe not as expensive as you might think. TicketMaster Ticketmaster still is the No.1 online retailer of gig tickets in the UK. They have the widest choice of all other sites and when the gig is on sale, it's on sale here. The problem is, a lot of people know that so you better make sure you're online and ready to get those all important tickets, otherwise you may be looking to get them second hand.
Seatwave Marketed as 'The fan to fan ticket exchange', Seatwave allows users to buy and sell tickets they don't need in an ebay style to people looking for gigs, sports events, theatre and festivals that may have been sold out for months. Simply search, find if there are any available tickets available and then choose the tickets you want. Buy tickets to Leeds festival, T-In the park, Hard Rock calling, Reading festival and V festival.
Gumtree Gumtree are becoming an increasingly good resource for second hand gig tickets, and you put a request for tickets on their too. The best thing about buying tickets on Gumtree is that it's a social site and on the whole, people have a conscience, and will sell @ or a slightly above face value. It's not a bidding system, you know the flat rate. A word of warning though is that there is no automated system for payment, most will be meeting up for the tickets with the seller in their local area or outside a gig. If you really want that ticket and want to pay online, there's only one real choice, but it will cost ya...
ebaySome say that ebay has made touts out of all of us, and maybe it has, but if you really need that ticket, it's probably going to be here, albeit at an inflated price. There is talk of clamping down on it selling tickets through ebay, but as the MD hasn't got a problem with it, it won't being soon. You can be lucky however, some people are prepared to sell at a 'Buy it Now' price, so you don't have to bid. Also, keep your eyes open for bids ending at night, the later the better, as there will be less people around, less people to bid against you. Ebay is last resort, but maybe the only way to get some tickets.
