The Sky Go App is now available and will allow you to watch Sky TV on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. As well as watching Sky TV you can also record, pause and rewind your favourite programmes.

You can get the Sky Go App completely free from the Apple App Store. To view the Sky TV channels on your iPhone or iPad, you must have a <a href="http://www.e4s.co.uk/docs/sky-digital-tv.htm"title="Sky TV Deals" >subscription to Sky TV. The programmes you will be able to watch will obviously depend on which Sky TV package you are on but could potentially include up to five Sky Sports channels and Sky News. If you are on a Movies packages then you will also be able to watch films live on your iOS device.

As well as pausing and rewinding, the Sky Go App also features a programme guide which opens in one corner of your device window. That means you can scan for other Sky TV programmes without leaving the channel you are currently viewing.

More channels will be added to the service over the next few months, and, from August, Sky Go will be opened up to people who don’t have a Sky TV package. There will a charge of between £15 and £40 for non-Sky TV customers to use Sky Go but we’re guessing there will be a good few takers.

Currently Sky has a customer base of just over 10 million but, by opening up the Sky Go App to non-Sky customers, the company will gain access to millions more people on the move.

If you haven’t yet signed up for a Sky TV package, then what are you waiting for? Check out our selection of <a href="http://www.e4s.co.uk/docs/sky-digital-tv.htm"title="Sky TV Deals" >Sky TV deals now.

David “The Haymaker” Haye, has said that his November boxing match with Audley Harrison is perfect for new 3D channel available on <a href="http://www.e4s.co.uk/docs/sky-digital-tv.htm"title="Sign Up For Sky TV" >Sky TV packages next month.

World heavyweight champion Haye who has KO’d 22 boxers in 25 fights says that Sky’s 3D boxing coverage is amazing.

“It makes boxing so much more entertaining, you feel like you’re in the ring with the guys. It has really thrown boxing ahead of the game. It really is dramatic,” said Haye.

The Manchester fight with Audley Harrison will be screen live on Sky Box Office HD on 13th November and will also be available for viewing on Sky 3D. It will be the first boxing match to be screened live on Sky TV’s 3D channel.

Speaking to Pocket-lint, the technology and gadget website, Haye said that the 3D technology that you see on <a href="http://www.e4s.co.uk/docs/sky-digital-tv.htm"title="Sky TV Deals" >Sky TV packages can even help you size up your adversary. He said that watching in three dimensions allows you to see more of your opponent’s technique.

Haye denied, however, that he would be conscious of Sky TV’s 3D cameras on the big night: “When I’m in the ring I’m very focused on what I’m doing. I probably won’t be aware of it when I’m in there, but I’ll definitely be the first one to run to a 3D TV to watch it afterwards.”

If you like your sport then Sky TV packs most of the big punches so why not sign up for a Sky package today? Before you rush off to the high street to sort it out though, you’d be much better off comparing our online selection of Sky TV offers to see which one suits your tastes and pocket the best. Find out now from our <a href="http://www.e4s.co.uk/docs/sky-digital-tv.htm"title="Sky TV Offers" >Sky TV Deals home page.

You can watch films for free on <a href="http://www.e4s.co.uk/docs/sky-digital-tv.htm"title="Sky Packages" >Sky packages this weekend starting from 6pm tomorrow (29th October 2010) even if you don’t have a Sky Movies package.

In an effort to plug the Sky Movies channel, the broadcaster is screening a range of selected films on Sky Movies Showcase and Sky Movies Showcase HD to all Sky customers regardless of which Sky package they are signed up to.

Even Virgin Media cable customers can get a piece of the action from Saturday morning as the taster channels will be open for them to view from 6am as well. And don’t forget that the clocks are going back as well which means you’ll have an extra hour to watch these free Sky movies!

The films showing on Sky’s free movie weekend include Bolt, Gran Torino, Confessions of a Shopaholic, Transporter 3 and Coraline.

The ranks of Sky’s HD customers have swelled by over two hundred thousand in the last three months to reach over 3 million people.

A spokesperson for Sky said: “For those of you watching in HD, you can see all the movies in ridiculously sumptuous detail. So if you’ve only ever seen Forrest Gump when you rented it on video, or A Bug’s Life back when your dad recorded it onto VHS, you’re going to be stunned by how good films can really look.”

So, why not check out the latest <a href="http://www.e4s.co.uk/docs/sky-digital-tv.htm"title="Sky Deals" >Sky offers and choose a package to suit your tastes? You might as well do it this weekend so that you get the movies free even if you sign up for a basic Sky package from as little as £19 a month.

If you subscribe to any <a href="http://www.e4s.co.uk/docs/sky-digital-tv.htm"title="Sky TV Deals" >Sky TV packages then here is a quick heads up that the broadcaster has a few slight tweaks of some of its channels over the next few months.

The Living Channel, which used to be on Virgin Media, will be rebranded on Sky TV as Sky Living early next year. The budget for the channel after relaunch will be upped by around a quarter.

The subscription service will then spread its main entertainment shows on Sky TV across three channels – Sky Living, Sky 1 and a new channel Sky Atlantic. All three Sky TV channels will be in HD and will be included as part of the basic sky package which you can now pick up for under £20.

The new Sky Atlantic channel on Sky TV will start airing early next year and will screen popular shows from the US like Mad Men, Treme and Scorsese’s Boardwalk Empire. Further highlights on the new Sky TV channel will include Luck, starring Dustin Hoffman; Mildred Pierce with Kate Winslet and the next series of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Sophie Turner Laing, Sky TV’s managing director of entertainment, news and broadcast operations said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer customers so much choice and quality across our expanded entertainment line-up.”

Are you looking for deals on Sky TV packages for a bit of entertainment in your living room? If so, look no further than e4s!

The e4s blog was amongst the first few websites to bring you details of the <a href="http://www.e4s.co.uk/blogs/skytvblog/2010/09/16/sky-tv-set-for-3d-channel-launch/"title="E4S Sky TV Blog - 3D Channel Launch Weekend" >Sky TV 3D Channel launch weekend line-up and now further details of what’s in store on the channel have been announced by Sky TV.

This Sky TV blog told you ages ago that from the 1st October the new Sky TV 3D channel would be offering the Ryder Cup golf tournament live on its inaugural weekend. We also brought you details of which movies Sky TV would be showing on the 3D channel launch weekend. Of course you will remember we told you that Aliens, Harry Potter and Alice would all be showing on the new channel’s launch. (Alice is that girl from Wonderland if you were wondering who the blog is Alice)

Now, we have further details of what exciting sporting events the new Sky TV channel will be beaming at our eyes in full three dimensions after its first weekend in just a few days time.

In football during October and November you can look forward to Barclays Premier League derby games from north London, Merseyside and Manchester. There will also be international football hitting a Sky TV screen near you in the channel’s first few months.

November will see Audley Harrison fight the first 3D boxing match in the world and Rugby Union fans can see England square up to South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.

Sky 3D’s Channel Director, John Cassy, is certainly enthusiastic. He says, “Sky 3D will totally change the way entertainment is viewed in homes across the country. The launch of the channel is the just the beginning, 3D has arrived and will change TV forever.”

If you have a 3D TV and a Sky+HD subscription that is!

On October 1, Sky TV will begin broadcasting Europe’s very first 3D channel featuring films and live sporting events. The first sporting event to take place on Sky’s new 3D channel will be three days of live Ryder Cup golf action. (Can you say golf action?)

Also to be screened in the first weekend are the two box office success stories Bolt and Monster vs. Aliens. Other films planned for the 3D channel are Alice In Wonderland, Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince and Ice Age – Dawn of the Dinosaurs.

Jeremy Darroch, Sky’s chief executive, said at the end of August: “As with High Definition, 3D is set to transform the way TV is enjoyed in homes nationwide. Following hot on the heels of the success of 3D cinema, Sky customers will now be the first anywhere in Europe to experience 3D TV from the comfort of their living rooms. They can look forward to a fantastic mix of live sport, blockbuster movies, and innovative entertainment and arts shows.”

Sky 3D is already screened at over a thousand pubs and clubs in the UK and Ireland but from October the television in your own living room could be bursting out of the flat screen world. The price tag for a 3D-ready TV is not cheap though. The least you can currently expect to pay for a telly that you can watch Sky 3D on is around a thousand pounds. Some models though can cost up to £7,000.

If you are happy to watch things in 2 dimensions but are interested in Sky packages then head over to our <a href="http://www.e4s.co.uk/docs/sky-digital-tv.htm"title="Sky TV Offers" >Sky TV Deals page for the latest offers from Sky.

Today’s Test Match between England and Pakistan which is available on <a href="http://www.e4s.co.uk/docs/sky-digital-tv.htm"title="Sky TV Offers" >Sky TV packages is an important landmark for the broadcaster.

The Oval Test Match will become the 150th live England Test Match to be screened by Sky and we certainly hope that both Sky and England go on to reach their double ton.

To mark this sporting and Sky broadcasting achievement Sky Sports asked their famous commentators and ex-Test cricketers to choose their favourite England Test from the 150 that Sky TV have shown.

The first live England Test that Sky screened was against the West Indies at Sabina Park way back in 1990 and that is the Test that ex-bowler Bob Willis chose as his most memorable. England won the Test by 9 wickets with an exhausted looking Gus Fraser picking up a 5fer.

David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd went for the 2002 Christchurch Test against New Zealand where Graham Thorpe scored the 3rd quickest double hundred of all time. The England boys declared in the second innings to leave NZ a hefty looking 550 to win. After a lot of nervous moments England eventually came through to win by 98 runs.

It was David Gower, however, who chose the same Test that Yours Truly would also have picked out. The second Test against South Africa at the Wanderers ground in Johannesburg was shown on Sky in 1995 and was one for the cricket connoisseurs. Michael Atherton batted for almost 11 hours to reach 185 not out and save the Test Match – with just a bit of help at the end from wicketkeeper Jack Russell.

Which England Test Match shown on Sky Sports would you have chosen as the most memorable?

Don’t miss out on the best cricket and other sporting action! Compare prices for a variety of Sky packages now with the latest Sky TV deals and offers on our <a href="http://www.e4s.co.uk/docs/sky-digital-tv.htm"title="Sky TV Offers" >Sky TV Offers page.

Ofcom, the media overlord, has requested that the Competition Commission look into the whole situation surrounding <a href="http://www.e4s.co.uk/docs/sky-digital-tv.htm"title="Sky TV Packages" >Sky TV packages and the way they screen pay-TV movies.

Ofcom are claiming that BSkyB, the satellite broadcasting company that runs Sky Digital, has both a motive and an ability to affect adversely the competition in the market for movies. It says that customers could be paying an inflated price for pay-TV films because of the way the current system is weighted to their advantage. If the Competition Commission agrees then people on Sky TV packages could see the price of films reduced in the future.

The referral to the Competition Commission comes as a result of Ofcom’s 3 year investigation of the wider pay-TV system in the UK.

Sky TV, however, have hit back at the allegations and said that Sky TV subscribers are getting a fair deal. They argue that pay-TV should not be thought of as a standalone entity which has no direct competition as they are constantly vying for an audience against cinemas and free television channels.

Sky TV also defended themselves by saying that relatively new players to the film entertainment industry such as LoveFilm, along with the rise of movie viewing on games consoles, is keeping Sky from gaining dominance of the market. A spokesman for Sky said: “There have never been so many ways to access movies, with innovation stretching across a wide variety of channels and platforms, including multiple ways to access Sky Movies.”

Now, we at Employment4students are all for choice in the way your movie entertainment is beamed to you. We also take pride in the way we offer price transparency by trying to bring you as many competitive Sky deals and offers as we can possibly dig up. So, buy yourself a job lot of popcorn and aim your eyes at the best <a href="http://www.e4s.co.uk/docs/sky-digital-tv.htm"title="Sky TV Deals" >Sky TV Deals we’ve found.

If you take your sports news from Sky Sports News then you, like us, will be disappointed to learn that you are going to have to start paying for the privilege via <a href="http://www.e4s.co.uk/docs/sky-digital-tv.htm"title="Sky TV Offers" >Sky packages or Pay TV later this year.

Millions of people in the UK have enjoyed the sports channel through Freeview for the past 8 years. Now though, Mr. Murdoch has decided that he needs more money so he has to start charging more for any News Corp content. It’s not unexpected we suppose given previous tactics by News Corp to increase their revenues – but we’re a bit fed up about it all the same. At least though, if you are considering <a href="http://www.e4s.co.uk/docs/sky-digital-tv.htm"title="Sky Packages" >Sky TV deals then you know that we’ll try to help you find the best Sky offers on the market at any time.

The production company behind Sky Sports News, British Sky Broadcasting (almost 40 per cent owned by News Corp at the moment) has explained the move by saying more investment needs to be put into the channel to make a high-definition version – making it the first HD sports news channel in Europe. To pay for that investment they say they need to remove the channel from Freeview and start getting some cash in through subscription customers.

As well as watching on Sky packages, customers of Virgin and TalkTalk TV subscriptions will also still be able to view the Sky Sports News channel.

It does make you wonder whether eventually other channels such as Sky News itself may be taken down a similar path. We’d guess not actually as they probably benefit too much from the publicity that Sky News brings from the sheer number of people that watch it for free.

But you never know…

If you are thinking of Sky TV deals at the moment, or would consider paying for Sky packages to pick up quality channels like Sky Sports News later in the year, then check out the E4S <a href="http://www.e4s.co.uk/docs/sky-digital-tv.htm"title="Sky TV Offers" >Sky TV Deals section of the site for the best prices.

Finally Sky and Virgin Media have brokered a deal which means Virgin Media will once again be able to screen Sky 1, Sky News, Sky Sports and a number of other channels. Since the dispute in early 2007, Sky pulled the plug on these channels being shown on Virgin Media TV meaning shows such as the Gallactica, 24 and everbodys favourite The Simpsons were “Lost” (Lost included).

So after the best part of 2 years Jack is back on Virgin Media. Whether Virgin Media stumped up the “doh” in the new carriage deals to encourage viewers of its entertainment channels back or Sky just realised that it had cost them £25 million in advertising revenue (no small drop in the ocean), we’ll never know.

Will this mean we’ll be any closer to working out what the hell happened to Oceanic Flight 815… I doubt it!!

If the though of Jack Bauer, Homer Simpson and the hot chick from Lost being on your screen gets you into a hot sweat… why not check out the latest digital tv deals from both Sky and Virgin Media and you can make your own choice!
