Anyone with a travel credit card from the Post Office will find holidays a little bit cheaper now. The Post Office is currently waiving the 2.5% fee that they usually charge for cash advances when you change your cash before you go. On a typical two week holiday spends budget of £500 having a credit card with the Post Office could save you £12.50. Also, it could be wise to spend on a Post Office credit card even when you are overseas in the sun since they also do not charge any commission on any purchases you make abroad. Other companies can charge 2.5 per cent or more for these overseas transactions, so again you could be better off using a credit card from the Post Office. A spokesperson for The Post Office said: “Our customers love the fact that we don’t charge commission when they use their travel credit card overseas, so we are now saving them even more money by removing the cash advance fee when using their Post Office Credit Card to purchase great value travel money from the Post Office.” If you factor in the other benefits of taking out a new Post Office credit card then the deal becomes even more attractive. They offer zero per cent interest on purchases for the first 3 months and will also transfer balances at zero per cent interest for 5 months of each of the first 3 years. (Please note though that a balance transfer fee may apply). If you don’t have a travel or student credit card already then it really could be worth looking at the options from the Post Office. In fact, we often pick out Post Office cards as some of the best credit cards for students. Take a look now to see if we have the best-fit student credit card for you. |
